Dukes, Earls and Nursery Rhymes: Yorkshire at War in the 15th century

A coach tour to include a guided walk around Pontefract Castle, with a visit to their dungeon where Cromwell’s soldiers carved their names in 1645, followed by a visit to Sandal Castle to explore the history of its many sieges. The day closes with visits to Wakefield’s Chantry Chapel and site of the Battle of Wakefield (1460). Guide and author Helen Cox updates the battle’s traditional interpretation. Please wear outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.
