1331 Gastro Bar 1331 is a bistro bar situated in the very nicest part of York within a couple of minutes walk of York Minster. 1331 is spread over 3 floors and offers quality food and great value. 1331 is open every day except Mondays. Reviews We booked and pre-ordered for New Year's Eve here from out of the area. The meal was 5* - brilliant food and atmosphere, cannot recommend highly enough (including staggeringly good veggie option). Service second to none (thanks to Alex and the Hudds crew) and great value as price included the bars 'til late. All complemented by great DJ and door staff. I would thoroughly recommend the 1331 restaurant. The restaurant decor was modern and welcoming and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful (the chef even came out of the kitchen, shook our hands and recommended items from the menu!). The food itself was beautifully presented and delicious. My only criticism (if you can call it that), is that while there were several daily specials, there wasn't a vegetarian one. Overall though, five stars! June 08
Great bar for relaxed drinking especially when its warm as they have a lovely paved courtyard area. Bands play too which is great and its really a hidden gem in York. They do the best tasting Sunday Roasts in York for £5-£7, though don't go for the evening menu if you are looking for something special - nice but unimaginative. Staff are great and they have a cosy snug on the first floor - perfect for star-crossed lovers to meet. Jan 2008 / 4 Stars!
Good value although not particularly inspiring food. Atmosphere, good and thankfully not a chain bar - a terminal disease that seams to have been inflicted upon York. Aug 07 / 3 Stars - Average

Great Bar. Fantastic Friendly Service. Had a well organised wedding party here. They provided balloons, DJ, arrival drinks and excellent buffet. A perfect end to our day. July 07 / 5 Stars - Recommended

Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. The waitress was really friendly, the restaurant itself was nicely setout and the amazing food tasted as good as it was presented! Starters were just the right amount; not too small or too big. Considering what we had the value for money was exceptional and when we come back to York we'll probably just eat here all the time!
