Biltmore Bar & Grill

Visited the restaurant for my wife's birthday. I can't recommend the Biltmore enough, whether just to pop in for a drink or the full dining experience. The atmosphere, food, service and price were all fantastic. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I had my wedding reception at the Biltmore July 11th 2008 and it was absolutely fantastic. The food, the staff and the attention to detail was amazing. The Biltmore was a perfect setting and really made the day. I will definitely return and would highly recommend it. Thanks especially to Stephanie and Jose for playing a huge part in making this a day I will never forget!

I like the Biltmore.. it is great for an aperitif glass of bubbly and the atmosphere sets you up for a classy evening out.. We had dinner one Saturday evening recently and had a wonderful table overlooking the bar below which was great for people watching and bald patch spotting!! The menu encompasses all that you expect from this look of place; contemporary European food and there was a nice variety of seasonal foods to choose from. Although the staff were very polite and well meaning it was not attentive. I would like put it down to staff shortages that night and hope that it is not that they are becoming complacent.

My wife and I visited the restaurant, and had the Christmas dinner menu. The food was fantastic, and the staff were very friendly and professional. We will defiantly being going back.

The Biltmore is one of the best places to eat (and drink!) in York, without doubt. The food is consistently good and the setting is different and very stylish. Excellent.

Sally and Andrew made the prospect of throwing a family 18th birthday party for my son, into an experience that was painless and enjoyable. The whole family enjoyed themselves, the food, the wine and the cocktails were excellent I can highly recommend the Biltmore food, drink and staff. Thank you Sally, Andrew and staff. Was scared to enter this place as it really looks expensive. It can be if you go for one of their expensive champagnes or eat in their Vintage Restaurant on the first floor. However my partner and I enjoyed a glass of wine, two lovely starters and 2 steak lunches for £9.95 a head. Exceptional value and cooked really beautifully. I enjoyed a couple of pints of Grolsch at about the going rate while my partner indulged in 2 glasses of moet - which at £6.50 a glass is not out of order. My advice is, this is simply a lovely place - it is not expensive, in fact it is really good value. It is very close to the dumps known as La Tasca and the Slug and Lettuce. Give these a body swerve and you will probably find you save money on your evening out and have a real quality experience. By the way they also do brilliant pizzas.
