Massive selection of burgers! There is something for everyone. With good service and room setting if you like fast food with a twist give GBK a try. May 08
Popped into this place on a whim. Found the staff very efficient even though the place was full. Would recommend this eatery to everyone. Feb 2007 / 5 Stars!
Nice food but quite expensive for what it is. For 2 burgers and chips with sauce dips (£1.50 extra each!) a beer,wine and 2 soft drinks it was around £40. When you think you could just nip in for a quick bite it turns out to be very costly. Nov 2007
Have sat down and 'taken away'. This is one of those hybrid fast-food operations akin to Nandos. They served us drinks and then we had to order from the till for food which was a bit bizarre but it was the first week of opening so maybe they were experimenting. Given that this is a fast-food burger place it's pretty good. The food is obviously made with superior ingredients and made to order. The portions are generous and the shopfitting is of a high standard. Given that it's fast food I think it's a little too expensive - you can get a comparably good burger in York in a proper table service restaurant at the same money. If you think you'll like the 'experience' or the breadth of the range then it's certainly worth a punt. October 2007 / 4 Stars - Good!

The Gourmet Burger Kitchen menu offers an extensive range of freshly prepared burgers to suit all tastes and appetites. The menu offers classic flavour combinations such as Chicken, Camembert and Cranberry, Beef, Avocado and Bacon. It then goes one step further with exciting new burger combinations such as Chorizo and Sweet Potato, Lamb and Minted Relish, or the vegetarian Portabella Mushroom burger. The specially developed GBK sauces and relishes help to define each burger. The GBK premises reflect the simplicity of the operation. The decor is clean, crisp and fresh. The kitchen is clearly visible - watch while you wait, see what you eat, enjoy the creation.
The burgers are really mouthwatering, chips are large, and hand cut I think, the relishes are delicious. The atmosphere is that of a clean burger joint and the clientele seems quite cosmopolitan. The prices are higher than you would expect but we have been back 4 times now.
