Two outstanding British singers open the Shakespearian songbook to reveal some of the most memorable settings of his poetry ever composed. They include the simple beauty of Elizabethan airs, a duet that is one of the most magical moments in all Handel, rich and strange music by Tippett and Johnny Dankworth, and ‘touches of sweet harmony’ to variously evoke the worlds of Shakespeare’s clowns, kings, fairies, servants and lovers.
