30 Nov - 18 Dec 2009
Norman Rea Gallery Langwith College, University of York. FREE EXHIBITION – Open to the general public. An exhibition displaying the work of contemporary artist David Fitzpatrick. LAUNCH NIGHT – Open to the general public 30th Nov 2009 7:00 – 9:00pm Place Making is a fascinating and striking exhibition, which displays David Fitzpatrick's meticulous drawings, collages and sculptures together for the first time. Antonia Shaw, curator of Place Making, says: “This exhibition will bring together, for the first time, David Fitzpatrick’s sculptures, drawings and collages. Displaying his ‘preliminary work’ alongside ‘final’ artworks, Place Making questions our understanding of artistic process. Fitzpatrick’s sculptures also query the category of drawing and the viewer’s bodily interaction with the pieces.” The Norman Rea Gallery has been established for over twenty years. It is the University of York’s official gallery and is situated in Langwith College. York University - show on map of York
