Come along to Parliament Street from 5pm, Santa will be there to meet you in his magical Grotto, dare you try to ride the Rodeo Rudolph? Disco and festive music followed by the Bogus Brothers on stage 7pm to 9pm. Fully licensed bar and guaranteed fun for all ages.
York’s city centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland, when City of York Council launches the start of the Christmas festivities in the city centre.
On Thursday 17 November there will be a Santa’s grotto, stilt-walking Jack Frosts, a rodeo reindeer and live music to mark the start of the city’s late night shopping campaign, which runs every Thursday up to Christmas.
The Bogus Brothers five-piece band will also be returning to their home city to play live music between 7pm – 9pm.
There will also be a festive bar area in Parliament Street and to give the whole event that extra special Christmassy look, the street will be also be filled with fake snow.
Cllr Sonja Crisp, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion at City of York Council, said: “York is one of the most Christmassy cities in the UK, so I’m really excited to see that this year’s planned festivities offer even more festive sights and sounds for visitors and residents to enjoy during the holiday season.”
