Scampston Spring Plant Fair 2017
Sunday 4 June 2017 10am - 4pm
The must-attend event for the all the green-fingers in Ryedale, the Scampston Plant Fair returns this year on the 4th June. With specialty stallholders, and a wealth of unusual, award-winning plant varieties.

Delicious refreshments will be on sale in the Garden Cafe.
Tickets to the plant fair also include access to the Walled Garden and Parkland.
Price: Adults: £7.50, RHS: £3.50, Children: £3.50

Scampston Hall and The Walled Garden at Scampston are situated on the north side of the A64 Leeds/Scarborough road, approximately 5 miles from Malton and just to the east of the village of Rillington. YO17 8NG
Wildlife Day

Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens
Every year Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens hosts a wildlife day to enthuse people about the wildlife in their gardens and provide them with practical tips on how to share even the smallest of spaces with animals, birds and insects. The day is a celebration of British wildlife, where you can see practical demonstrations of bird ringing and moth-trapping. You will also be able to join experts in the garden as they take you on identification walks to find some of the secret wildlife.

Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens
Join garden-owner Vanessa and a range of wildlife experts in a celebration of British wildlife. You can see practical demonstrations of bird ringing, moth-trapping and pond-dipping and have a go at a number of activities. You will also be able to join experts in the garden as they take you on identification walks to find some of the secret wildlife. Perfect for a family day out.

13 fascinating gardens will be open plus other places to explore, there's fun for kids and a children's competition, plant stalls, refreshments en route, the Poppleton Community Railway Nursery will be open on Saturday and much, much more.
Adult weekend pass is £5 each, accompanied children free, available on-line from, or from Cardland, Nether Poppleton Post Office and The Co-operative Food in Poppleton or in the village on the day.
It's a great day out - don't miss it.
Ryedale Rose Festival

The Ryedale Rose Festival at RV Roger’s nursery in Pickering (8th and 9th July) will be a free rose-filled weekend for the whole family, a blaze of colour and scent with live music, hot and cold refreshments, crafts, displays, and demonstrations. And, this year’s event will also see the launch of the ‘Joe Maiden’ rose, named after the much loved author and radio Leeds broadcaster who passed away last year. There will be only a handful of ‘Joe Maiden’ roses available this season, and they will be auctioned at the festival to raise funds for Joe’s favourite charities, where bidding is expected to be keen! Visitors will be able to admire the huge range and diversity of our nation’s favourite flower, and have the rare opportunity to stroll amongst 50,000 rose bushes in full bloom in the RV Roger rose fields.
