Relics of St Thérèse visit York![]() 01 & 02 October 2009 York Minster will be host to the Relics of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. From 6:00pm on Thursday 1st October to 12.00 noon on Friday 2nd October 2009. Thérèse of Lisieux (1873 to 1897) is one of the major saints of the Roman Catholic Church, and many Christians of other traditions and denominations are influenced by her writings and her life. Dying aged just 24, she is one of only three women recognised as ‘Doctors of the Church’. The Relics, contained in a decorated casket, are in England and Wales from the 16th September to the 16th October 2009 at the invitation of the Roman Catholic Bishops of England and Wales. Wherever the relics have travelled since the 1990s, people have experienced the closeness of God through the saint. More Information Here (pdf) www.yorkminster.org
