Today is the start of this year's York Easter Family Festival!
There are activities running city wide for families with the Shambles Market Easter trail, the new Easter panto ‘The Hunt for the Magical Chocolatey Chick’ on Parliament Street, along with York’s Chocolate Festival! Make sure to stop by and visit your Shambles Market traders over the next few days, and take a break with some tasty street food in Shambles Food Court.

Shambles Market, a historic and vibrant market situated in the heart of the City of York, is a source of exceptional fresh produce, unique crafts and essential merchandise. Open seven days a week the Market is the perfect shopping destination with more than 85 stalls offering a diverse selection of goods. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a bite to eat in our new street food area with free wifi and seating.
The York Farmers Market is held within the Shambles Market on the last Friday of every month. It is housed under our new gazebos against the back wall of Marks & Spencer and on Silver Street.
If you love Yorkshire then this is the ideal market to visit as it offers amazing, quality produce that has either been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, made, smoked or processed by the stallholder within a 40-mile radius of York.
Traders come from all different areas of Yorkshire to sell their local products and produce, including home-made sausages made from Yorkshire bred pork, Yorkshire Rapeseed oil, Yorkshire Jams & chutneys, local sweet & savoury pies, Yorkshire cheese, Yorkshire bread, Sheepskin rugs, Yorkshire handmade pottery, Metal-ware gifts, Soy candles, Yorkshire Ostrich meat, Yorkshire beer, Venison, Chilli preserves, Honey, Cupcakes, Yorkshire biscuits, Dog treats, Plants, Fish and Yorkshire Crisps.
