Soundsfun! Christmas Voices Concert![]() Friday 16th December 2011 Venue: St Helens Church Y01 8PQ On 16th December at 7.30pm. A perfect setting for the Christmas Season. St Helen's is a beautiful medieval church in Stonegate opposite Betty's tearooms, In the centre of magical and historical York! A Christmas Concert with a difference. Conducted by Musical Director Amanda Crawley, A friendly Yuletide welcome awaits you from the lovely local ladies of SoundsFun! We sing for your delight a selection of Carols , Songs and Solos including the traditional 'Ding Dong Merrily on High' and the beautiful 'Angels Carol' And the fun and funky 'Jingle Bell Swing' Hear again our very own carol 'Nearly Christmas' music composed by our talented accompanist David Hammond. Includes Christmas Readings by choir members Val Seddon who is reciting 'Talking Turkeys!! a topical comic reading by Benjamin Zephaniah, Also a brand new Christmas monologue written by local York Playwright Roger Holt 'A Night in the Stable' will be read by Janice Barnes-Newton. Refreshments provided free after the concert so you can enjoy a friendly chat with the choir ..and some festive food, including some home baking! and soft drinks. Tickets £6 (sorry no concessions although children under 5yrs admitted free. We keep our price as cheap as possible so all can enjoy us). Part of the Marie Curie SING OUT! For Marie Curie.
