This smart Italian restaurant is located just around the corner from York Minster. The new conservatory at the rear has views of York Minster. The restaurant has been converted from a former girls school, hence the name and you can see some of the memorabilia from the school on display. Customer Recommendations I was there about 3 weeks ago on a Saturday with my wife , it was our anniversary. When we booked the table, the man we talked to with an Italian accent was very polite, we asked for a table in the conservatory and he explained that it was a busy night but he'd do his best to get us a table there. We did and it was a great evening food was good service friendly and the atmosphere fantastic. I'll be back

Food was good, but not excellent. Service was mixed and we where given the wrong meal. When we queried this the head waiter was dismissive and rude. There was no consistency of service as different waiting staff rushed by and gave us our order. At the end of the meal we were over charged for a bottle of wine we didn't have and when we challenged this we were given a new bill without any apology or comment. The pianist was talented, but at times it felt that we had to shout over him.

Enjoyable evening dining in lovely conservatory, excellent food and service, and very good pianist. Will definitely visit again. Visited last June 2007

Food was amazing, but service was terrible! The maitre' d was rude and dismissive and we had a long wait in the bar area (with no one serving..) Fortunately, we managed to find a waiter to look after us very well, he plied us with complementary grappa and dessert and the pianist was amazing.
