York Festival Of Ideas Tuesday 8 - Sunday 20 June 2021
York Festival of Ideas celebrates its tenth anniversary from 8-20 June with a packed programme of over 150 FREE online and in-person events.
Presented under the banner of ‘Infinite Horizons’, this year’s Festival offers a diverse range of talks, performances, family activities and panel discussions, covering everything from history to health, AI to archaeology, and storytelling to space. The programme also features a special day of online events to celebrate the Festival’s tenth anniversary on Monday, 7
Headline speakers include children’s author Michael Morpurgo; historical consultant to the Horrible Histories series Greg Jenner; composer and violinist Anna Phoebe; Somali-British justice activist Magid Magid; the best-selling author of Wild Swans Jung Chang; and world-renowned forensic anthropologist Sue Black.
The Festival also includes a series of focus events which place the spotlight on some of the most pressing questions facing humankind, from how to create a fairer economy to oceans and climate change.
